Mana Conquest
 Trilogy |
- The game originally saw life as 'Ramza's Mana Conquest'. It was originally conceived as a fangame to the popular Legion Saga Series. When the creator of Legion Saga refused to allow a young and yet unknown Ramza make a fangame of his work, the project was changed somewhat into the very first version of MC.
- The 'Demo' for that version was released sometime in mid 2001 on the rpg2knet forums. It was bad. It also, however had many things in it that carried through to the later versions, such as mana stones, as well as the four playable characters, who are all part of the Vengeance party.
- Taking the criticism to heart, I completely remade Mana Conquest. I released a Teaser for the game in early 2002, (which some would know is the opening in MC:Vengeance) it met with positive criticisms, a few months later the demo was released it scored as high as 96% on some reviews (this demo can actually be found on the downloads page as demo1.3).
- Progress on that version went smoothly, but as my skills improved, I decided that there was a lot to be desired in the earlier parts of the game, meeting with complaints that Rolf's part in the intro was too short, and didn't seem to have anything with the story, I decided that it would be a better idea to turn the one game into a trilogy. I immediately began work on the first part.
- The original story called for Rolf to fight Theo alone, but that wouldn't have made a very good storyline for a game. I added a few more characters to the story, and decided to flesh out the ancient Amira as well, adding in the Androids and Systems (things which were not going to be seen until late in the original storyline).
- Using an idea given to me during the review of the first demo of part 1, I decided random encounters should be eliminated, the game balance would be much better that way. Also determined at that point that there should be more strategy to the fights, so the weapon attributes came into play.
- Demo 2 was released later, and met with decent reviews, but it wouldn't be for a year or two before the full game would be released.
- Vengeance is the second part of the trilogy, and it is infact, an almost direct remake of the original game. All of the characters are in play as in the original, the intro and storyline also remain almost unchanged. Taking in some of the best parts of the original make Vengeance a superior game, however.
- Eons has scarcely been talked about or referred to, only one other person knows the story to the game, and he is not part of the community anymore.
